SSE Weekly Colloquium | 理工学院系列研讨会邀请

The School of Science and Engineering is committed to creating a platform for students and faculty members to exchange ideas and explore cutting-edge research developments in various fields of science and engineering. Starting from 2021 fall, SSE will organize the "Weekly Colloquium" series of seminars every Friday. Each week, SSE will invite our faculty members and distinguished guest speakers from outside the University to conduct academic seminars.

All students and faculty members are invited to join the weekly colloquium!

Abstract

As a young technology, micro-nano robots have shown amazing potential in biomedical and other fields in recent years. It has the ability to play a role in hard-to-reach spaces, including living organisms, and it has great potential in non-invasive or minimally invasive diagnosis. Due to the limitation of the small size of micro-nano robots, the amount of drugs they can carry is highly limited, which challenges medical imaging modalities because it could be difficult to realize real-time in vivo imaging. In order to overcome the problems, we learn from nature and realize the swarm actuation and control methods of micro-nano robots, so that a large number of nano-scale carriers can form a dynamic group mimicking animals collectives in nature. We use dynamic self-assembly technology to assemble millions of magnetic nanoparticles in motion into small-scale deformable robots with controllable morphology. This seminar mainly introduces the controllable generation, automatic control, and biomedical applications of various micro-nanorobot swarms.
